摘要

Twenty kids (3-5 month old) were allocated to five different groups. The group-v/ise treatment consisted of supplementation with concentrate mixture (100g/d) in T_1, urea molasses mineral block (UMMB) in T_2, medicated urea molasses mineral block (Med-UMMB containing fenbendazole @ 0.5g/kg) in T_3, tannin (5% of DM) in T_4 and UMMB plus tannin (5% of DM) in T_5. All kids were offered ad libitum rice straw and berseem hay (40:60). On day 45th total nitrogen in T_2 and T_3 was significantly (P<0.05) higher than T_1 and T_4. Highest TCA-ppt-N and soluble nitrogen was recorded in T_3 whereas, lowest in T_4 Maximum concentration of NH_3-N in the rumen was observed in T_2 and T_3. Highestmicrobial protein and total bacterial count was recorded in T_3 whereas the lowest in T_1, while, highest protozoal count was recorded in T_1 and lowest in T_4. It was concluded that addition of UMMB, Med-UMMB or tannin in the diet of kids favorably modified the rumen fermentation.
