Cloning, sequencing and characterization of chicken growth hormone receptor gene

摘要

In this study 762 bp amplicon of chicken Growth hormone receptor (GHR) gene has been cloned, sequenced and characterized. No polymorphism was identified at the Alu I, Sau 3A I, Pst I, Nsp I, and Hind III sites. The partial exon-5 sequence showed variability at nucleotide positions 8, 15 and 16 amongst the species studied. On phylogenetic analysis the sequence in this study clustered along with the other avian GHR sequences clearly away from the mammalian cluster. At position 8, transition from 0 to A and at 15, 16 and 23 positions transversions from A to T, G to C and T to G respectively, were identified among the sequences. However, the substitutions identified may hardly affect the structure and function of the GHR protein since all different substitutions resulted in amino acids belonging to similar groups.
