Fire in the institutions is the cause of considerable number of casualties [1, 2]. Hospital fires, particularly in the intensive care unit (ICU), can be serious because of the difficulties and dangers associated with the emergency evacuation of patients, more so in the case of newborns. Preventive architectural design, fire drills, staff education and protocols for disaster planning are essential to prevent such incidents. This document gives a rational approach to the problem of potential fire in the ICU.
