The synthesis of bis-imino nickel(II) NNN pincer complexes of the type [NiCl_2{C_5H_3N-2,6-(CHNAr_f)_2}];Ar_f= C_6H_3-2,3-F_2 (1),C_6H_3-2,5-F_2 (2),C_6H_3-3,4-F_2 (3),C_6H_3-3,5-F_2 (4),C_6H_2-2,3,4-F_3 (5),C_6H_2-2,3,6-F_3 (6),C_6H_2-2,4,5-F_3 (7),and C_6H_2-2,4,6-F_3 (8),has been achieved and its reactivity explored proving these compounds to be efficient in the alkyl and aryl thiolation of iodobenzene.
