Solexa Inc (Hayward,CA),a company developing novel sequencing technology,has started shipments of its Solexa Genome Analysis System,under its early access programme.The instrument is to increase throughput,accuracy and cost-effectiveness,"to generate over one billion bases of DNA sequence per run and to enable whole-genome re-sequencing below 100,000 per sample".This will allow large-scale projects,including whole human genome re-sequencing to compare cancerous and normal genomes.
