I am honored, humbled and a little anxious about accepting this award. There are three former Miles Conrad Lecturers present in the room to add to that nervousness, and I would like to recognize them: John Regazzi, Kurt Molholm and Georg Schultheiss. Today I am going to brief you on the current environment within academic libraries. But before I begin, I want to tell you a little bit about myself and about the Cambridge Information Group.
