Rostral teeth development was investigated in 514 crossbred cattle (Holstein X Sahiwal, Holstein X Gir, Holstein X Tharparkar), 0 to 96 months of age, at 3 farms in Jabalpur, India using a cross sectional technique. A coding system was developed todesignate the dentition in each animal. There were no significant differences in the age at eruption of teeth between the 3 breed types. However, between farm differences in the dental formula of the animals were significant. Prediction equations were constructed to determine age during tooth development (R2 = 0.49-0.56).
