Five hundred thirty five first six lactation records of 94 Gangatiri cows maintained at Government Livestockcum Agricultural Farm Arazilines, Varanasi spread over a period of 28 years (1971 to 1998) were analysedto assess the influence of period, season and parity on some performance traits. The overall least squaremeans for different performance traits were: age at puberty (AP) 33.83 +- .39 months, age at first calving(AFC) 43.17+-0.38 months, service period (SP) 136.32 +- 7.77 days, calving interval (Cl) 411.46 +- 17.17 days,lactation length (LL) 259.96 +- 4.96 days, dry period (DP) 151.44 +- 6.07 days, lactation milk yield (LMY)1138.88 +- 30.42 kg, 305 days /less days milk yield (305 DY) 1121.40 +- 29.22 kg and peak yield (PY) 6.92+-0.12 kg . Period had highly significant (P< 0.01) effect on AP, AFC, Cl and on SP (P< 0.05). Similarlyseason also had significant (P< 0.01) effect on AP, AFC and SP. All the traits except LL and LMY wereinfluenced significantly (P< 0.01) by parity also.
