摘要

A herbal galactogogue, 'Galog Strong1, bolus was fed in tapering doses to four numbers of lactating crossbred Jersey animals of same age, in the second stage of lactation and in the second week of milk production kept under identical managemental conditions maintained in the Instructional Research Livestock Farm of OUAT, Bhubaneswar. The results when compared with animals in the control group revealed a significant increase in the yield at the 6lh week of treatment. (8.65+-0.02 vs. 9.68+-Q.Q5 Kg., FCM). However, no significant difference was observed in the milk fat, protein, ash, TS, SNF percentages. There was no change in the sp.gr. of milk. The digestion co-efficient per cent of crude protein, ether extract, crude fiber and NFE showed an upward trend in the treatment group. The daily water intake increased significantly. (29.25+-1.31 vs. 30.75+-0.47 Its).
