This paper considers the stabilization and H-infinity control of the Hamiltonian control systems with dissipation. Certain sufficient conditions and the control design techniques are obtained. Then, the results are applied to the excitation control of power systems. The excitation control is obtained to stabilize the system at a working point, and a solution for its H-infinity control is presented. [References: 12]
