The new Doppelmayr 3S-Bahn in Kitzbuhel is attracting plenty of attention, but what exactly are the advantages of a tri-cable solution? 3 S-Bahn is the name given to a tri-cable circulating ropeway with twin track ropes. The Doppelmayr System operates with 30-passenger cabins suspended from two four-wheel carriages. Why was such relatively complex ropeway engineering chosen for Kitzbuhel?
