In the following article Professor Gabor Oplatka reports on the first ever use of resin socketing for a Swiss ropeway rope. For the construction of a new jigback in Switzerland, it was decided to replace the usual signal cable with fiber optic cabling integrated in the core of the track rope as shown in Fig. 1. The construction of such a track rope is described in [1].
