In a major New Year reshuffle, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov has replaced ministers and senior officials involved in the energy sector for falling short of their duties and threatened others with the sack if they do not shape up.Victims included Energy Minister Gur-bannyr Annaveliyev, who was replaced by his deputy, Yarmuhammed Orazguliyev, and the head of state oil producer Turkmenneft, Garyagdy Tashliyev, who has made way for the former head of state Turkmengeologiya, Sapargeldy Jumayev. The president also fired a warning to the deputy prime minister in charge of the oil and gas sector, Tachberdi Tagiyev, telling him: "If you fail to correct the situation in the sector, we will meet again."
