The Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC) said it has awarded France's Tech- nip a front-end engineering and design contract for use in the Gulf of Mexico in case of emergency. The MWCC is a collaborative effort by Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Conoco and Shell to develop and build special equipment to cut off the flow of oil quickly in the event of a fu- ture offshore blowout in the Gulf of Mexico.
