Building control bodies across the UK L2 have given their approval to the use of robust details as an alternative to Pre-Completion Testing (PCT), to ensure that new build houses comply with Part E of the Building Regulations for England and Wales. Over 80 percent of all local authority building control bodies have purchased the Robust Details Limited (RDL) published pattern book, which sets out separating wall and floor specifications that have been tested and approved as having the capability to consistently exceed the performance standards set down in Approved Document E.
