In this article I would like to share a technique which I have used to "fast track" the implementation of projects. Several years ago I was asked to join an organization which had set up a composite manufacturing facility to produce the chassis, wings and bodywork for their Formula One racing car. The problem the company faced stemmed from the fact that they had never undertaken such an activity before. However, this situation had been recognized from the outset. At the point I joined the company, the project team had been in existence for only a year and everything relating to the build of the first prototype car was bought out. The first year's goal was to get the organization up and running, and to test the design and build of the new vehicle on a small scale.
