The 30 years (1975-76 to 2004-05) data were collected from various agricultural statistics of Madhya Pradesh and the Directorate of Agriculture and Land Records of Madhya Pradesh for agricultural development in the country as a whole Malwa plateau recorded maximum increase in their area by 421.04 thousand hectares and production by 332.04 thousand tones. On the basis of percentage change in area, production and productivity were maximum in Malwa plateau by 200.17%, Jhabua hills by 439.83% and Central Narmada valley by 79.89% respectively. The minimum change in area and production was found in Baster plateau by 1.15 thousand hectares and 1.41 thousand tones. The maximum area reduce in Kymore plateau and Satpura hills, Satpura plateau and Grid region by -58.44, -19.28 and -6.21 thousand hectares on the basis percentage change the area reduce by -25.56, -21.41 and -2.62% in Satpura plateau, Kymore plateau and Satpura hills and Grid region, respectively. The productivity decreased only in Vindhyan plateau by -113.52 kg/ha and -15.41%.
