A New Process of Copper Smelting with Oxygen Enriched Bottom Blowing Technology

Over the past one year of industrial production, the new bath smelting process developed at the Fangyuan Non-Ferrous Metal, having higher oxygen enrichment, high throughput, high oxygen pressure, high negative pressure, has shown many advantages, such as high lance life and high efficiency of pyretic smelting. Matte grade can be easily controlled, as required. The environmental condition of the new process is no dust and off-gas. This paper gives a brief description of the new process and its feature mentioned above. It also certifies the feasibility of the new oxygen enrichment bottom-blowing bath smelting process based on the common metallurgical theory of bath smelting process. The authors of the paper summarize the whole production period in which oxygen-enriched bottom-blowing smelting process is used and present some problems for discussion.
