Problems of landscape degradation, fragility of land resources, habitat fragmentation and pollution factors in industrial areas are considered. Projects of sustainable development in industrial areas of Italy in line with the system of strategic evaluation of the environment developed in the EU are outlined. Objectives of environmental protection plans for the area of embankment construction are considered. A case study of a conservation project for an inter-module slipway adjacent to the town of Gallarate in the area of the Milan Malpensa airport, Lombardy, is presented. An illustration is included on site preparation in the area of reforestation adjacent to the slipway. Illustrations are also provided of projects designed for collection of rainwater increasing the richness of the wetland ecosystem and a by-pass construction in the area of the slipway..
