The fruit terminal at the port of Sete, on France's southern coast near Montpellier, has gone into liquidation. The 25,ooom2 terminal lost its only customer back in 2011 when Israeli exporter Agrexco, 30 per cent owned by the Israeli state, unexpectedly and rather suddenly fell into bankruptcy. Following the bankruptcy, Italian group Orsero, owner of the French subsidiary, Reefer Terminal Sete (rts), attempted to maintain a route with Israel through shippers Zim and Cosco, but the failure of this venture eventually culminated in the liquidation of the subsidiary. The building was closed for two years after Agrexco's demise, and now a new owner is being sought.
