Santiago—French kiwifruit producer Primland relies on Chile for its Southern Hemisphere production, allowing it to supply its customers throughout the year.There is a saying familiar with all those who work for France's leading pro-ducer of kiwifruit: 'The sun never sets at Primland,' it goes, a reference to the Oscar-branded kiwifruit's presence on markets all across the globe. The phrase could equally allude to the company's year-round production, achieved by cultivating not justin the Northern Hemisphere, in the southwest French department of Les Landes, but also in the Southern Hemisphere, in Chile, a country chosen as much for the professionalism of its growers and packers as for the convenient timing of its kiwifruit season.
