Sirane's new ethylene-absorbing patch is a low-cost method of slowing down the degradation process for a range of fresh produce. Extending the shelf-life of fresh fruit and vegetables is the pot of gold that many technology companies in Europe continue to chase, with UK-based Sirane one of the companies at the head of the pack. This was confirmed when the group announced the launch of a new ethylene-absorbing patch, that it said could help extend the shelf-life of packaged produce, with a knock-on effect of helping producers gain access to markets further afield.
