Poland's Baltic Berry has enjoyed a progressive year, with developmentson the logistics side while also benefiting from a greater number of markets than ever before taking interest in its products.Earlier in the year, sales manager Joanna Sapala told eurofruit that the company had been focusing on developing its facilities, in a bid to take its packing and storage capabilities to a new level, and this remains the case."Baltic Berry is developing its facilities, and is building a controlled atmosphere coldstore," explains Sapala. "This will have a double impact on our crop. Firstly, it will prolong the season, which is so important for us and our customers. And a second positive is the addition of a 'shocking' cool-ing chamber which will take quality maintenance to the next level - rapid cooling of the fruit will help to prolong its shelf life."
