A shortage of premium quality product in Continental Europe is boosting sales of the new season Israeli crop. AGREXCO is reporting strong demand for Israeli potatoes on European markets and claims the outlook for the rest of the season remains positive thanks to an excellent quality 2006 crop resulting from favourable growing conditions throughout the winter. The marketer plans to export 100,000 tonnes of new season potatoes this year, a similar volume to 2005, but says the focus will be on supplying tailor-made varieties and sizes to specific markets and dedicated clients across Europe.
