In a recent article in the European Journal of Gastroenter-ohgy & Hepatology, Das and Wong suggest that the artificial neural network-based predictive instrument consistently and significantly improves clinical patient outcome, and that most physicians will welcome incorporation of such an instrument in their overall decision-making processes to assist them in managing patients with multifaceted disorders, such as acute lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage. We agree with the authors.
