The correlation between the third order NLO susceptibility and the density d of the binary borate glass systems has been established on the basis of the data of both x and d published in the literature. For M_2O_q-B_2O_3 glass systems fq denotes the charges on the metallic ion M), it is found that X increases exponentially with increasing d and that the normal mathematical expression between x and d is. When q=7 and 2, a=l-184 andb-0-4445; when q=3, the values of both a and b change depending on the metallic ions present in the binary borate glass system. The range of glass systems and the composition limits are given for where the exponential law between yj3' and d is expected to be obeyed, are given out.
