摘要

One spider, Enoplognatha latimana, was recorded in 2008 which was new to the county. Colin Smith collected a single male at a mercury vapour light at Willingham Forest on 30th June. The spider is very similar in appearance to the much more common Enoplognatha ovata and can only be separated under the microscope. In the same batch of spiders collected at MV light on that day, there was a male Enoplognatha ovata and so I expected the second Enoplognatha specimen to be Enoplognatha ovata and was therefore very surprised to discover that the second male was Enoplognatha latimana a species I had only previously seen on Anlesey, North Wales.
