At the Annual General Meeting of the Society on June 25 this year Peter Merrett stood down as Editor of the Bulletin, a post he has held for 37 years. During that time he has edited 736 papers in 111 separate parts of the Bulletin or 12 Volumes and 3parts. Peter took over as Editor from Eric Duffey in July 1974. Eric, who succeeded John Crocker, edited Volume 3 parts 1 and 2 before moving on to edit Biological Conservation, a journal that he was instrumental in setting up.
