摘要

The results of the conceptual study on the effects of human activity on the Earth's environment,classified into regional and global issues,are summarized.Pollution by various pollutants in air and water has been greatly improved dince the 1970s in Japan,and the toxicity of dioxin has been found to be slight.The unmber of designated victims of pollution disesase and the death ratd of infants have been decreasing ,and the average life span in Japan ranks among the top in the world.Based on these facts,regional environmental problems can be said to be insignificant.on a global scale,it was not possible to indicate the deterioration of the Earthis environments from the viewpoint of engineering because the reason behind glodal warming is unclear,the destruction of the ozone layer has been sicentifically solved,and the exhaustion of natural resofrces cannot be certified through direct scientific evidence. These aeasons suggest that the reconnition that the environment is growing worse is possibly incorrect ,and misguided efforts in the engineering field based on such assupmtions willcome to nothing.Rather,more attention should be paid to the diffusion of poisons in the environment in a recycling society,as it will pollibly increase the load on the envionment.
