In order to reduce its use of fuel-oil imports for electricity generation, reduce green house-gas emissions and gener ate more electricity to support economic development, the Indo nesian government is aiming to allocate 20% of its energy to renewable resources by 2025. Geothermal power is a key potential energy source, with PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero), the state-owned electricity company, aiming to develop a geothermal capacity of 4.8GW (through its projects and independent power-pro ducer projects).
