UK remediation firm Sirius Engineering Group has launched a new drilling-services division on the back of record future orders worth 17 million pounds. The company said its new division will combine the benefits of the latest drilling technologies and an experienced workforce to provide clients with services that include: drilling and grouting treatment of shallow mine workings; mineral investigations; rotary site investigations; drilling for ground-source heat pumps; and the installation of soil nails and rock anchors. Geologist and drilling manager Andrew Thomas has joined Sirius from Van Elle Ltd to head the new division. He said: "Sirius is expanding and I'm delighted to be appointed to head this new venture, which complements the group's existing services; providing our clients with a fully-integrated ground stabilisation and remediation business.
