The US gas rig count continued to plumb new depths last week as Henry Hub futures prices fell to their lowest level in over 16 years, but the oil rig count has shown its first significant upward move in months, data from the US Energy Information Administration and services group Baker Hughes show. Rigs - The count fell by 9% to 168 last week, taking the count to a new low level since the EIA’s standardised data began in July 1987.
