摘要

The first international workshop dealing with “Microbial Lipids, From Genomics to Lipidomics” turned out to be a highly successful symposium with more than 30 lectures and 50 posters presenting the state-of-the-art in this fast growing and highly interdisciplinary research field. Chaired and organized by Gunther Daum (Graz University of Technology, Austria), with major support by Federation of the European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) and Euro Fed Lipid, this conference attracted already more than 110 participants from around the world to Austria's capital Vienna. Most importantly, FEBS financially support 15 young scientists to participate in this workshop. The conference took place at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna.
