The aim of this study improves the chemotherapeutic effects of3- [4-amino-2-methyl-5-pyrimidinyl] methyl]-1- (2-chloroethyl)-1-nitrosoureahydrochloride (nimustine: ACNU) and methyl 643 - (2-chloroethyl)-3 -nitrosoureido] -6 -deoxy-alpha-D -glucopyranoside (ranimustine: MCNU)by choosing tissue specific treatment on the basis of polyamine level in eachcancer-bearing host tissue induced by the drugs. The effects of these anti-cancer drugs on body weight, some organ weights and the concentrations ofputrescine, spermidine and spermine in 14 different tissues were examined inrats that had been given the drugs for five consecutive days.
