Under Secretary for Food Safety Richard Raymond said that the recent "rolling recall" of ground beef from United Food Group ofVemon, Calif. shows that public health agencies need to improve communication with one another. In prepared remarks for a speech to the Southwest Meat Association on July 20, Raymond said that the recall, which started on June 3 and was expanded on June 6 and again on June 9, kept growing based on new information from California and Arizona health authorities.
