Swiss-based Spectraseis has announcedthe formation of a multi-year jointindustry project (JIP) for the researchand development of low frequencyseismic technologies for hydrocar-bon reservoir detection and charac-terization. The initiative is called theLow Frequency Seismic Partnership(LFSP). Confirmed participants in theLFSP, which will run for three yearsthrough 2012 are Cairn, Chevron,ExxonMobil, GDF Suez, and Pemex. An Asian national oil companywill join the LFSP over the comingmonths.
