This work provides a comprehensive experimental database of a simplified benchmark flame, to validate turbulence-chemistry interaction models Data of the spatial structure and dynamics of the turbulent flow field of stable and extinguishing, partially premixed, opposed jet flames, as well as the inflow conditions, are provided in order to validate predictions of flame extinction, obtained by LES. Particle image velocimetry is used to capture the flow field and planar laser induced fluorescence to mark the flame. The simultaneous use of both techniques allows to measure the flow field from the flames perspective. Conditional flow field statistics are provided with high spatial resolutions in a time uncorrelated manner at 1 Hz. The complementary use of high speed laser diagnostics at 5 kHz allows tracking the evolution of extinction in real time. A new multidimensional conditioning scheme is introduced in order to compare the individual and random transient events of extinction in a meaningful statistical manner without smearing important spatiotemporal information.
