The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) should take a leading role in overseeing waste policies, a House of Lords inquiry has found. In the final report of an investigation into the potential of a waste-based economy, the Science and Technology Committee has called for a minister within BIS to co-ordinate waste activities across Government. He or she should then produce a plan for at least 15 years by 2015.
