RONCO Engineering, supplies precision components to a number of industries, but its biggest customer is the Articulated Trucks Division at Caterpillar. Ronco was the first company approved to Caterpillar's Certified Supplier status. Faced with a significant increase in volumes against existing orders, the company adopted Alkartpro - Citizen's specially developed off-line programming software -to support its sliding head capacity. The result has been a massive leap in productivity, and a dramatic cut in programming times for new jobs. Last year Ronco added a Citizen C16 CNC sliding head auto to its existing complement of two Citizen L20 and one L32 machines. These were immediately engaged on a particular family of components that form a solenoid assembly for safety critical braking systems. Ronco produces 40 stainless steel parts in the contract, in batches rangingfrom 500 to 20,000.
