Managers at Haas Automation Inc. have been working on-the Haas Factory Outlet concept for nearly a decade, and by now HFOs are the norm for the builder's distribution system throughout the United States. Outlet showrooms, typically set up as separate divisions of the local distributor, importantly have a consistent look and feel wherever they are located, training facilities are set up with familiar simulators, and service technicians are factory-trained. That consistency is emphasized by events like this month's "Demo Day 10," June 21 st at all domestic HFOs, at which visitors get a chance to win prizes including a new lathe or mill. Haas Factory Outlets got their start in Southern California, near the company's large single plant in Oxnard, and they're now spreading outside North America. Next month president GeneHaas and general manager Robert Murray travel to China to open three new HFOs there, in Shenyang, Guangzhou, and Shandong. The existing Haas Automation China division, in Shanghai, continues to coordinate potential new HFOs there.
