Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn't mean politics won't take an interest in you. (Pericles, 430 B.C.) This phrase could be viewed as the clarion call for SME's new venture into the world of government relations and public affairs. If you wait long enough, the government will come find you. You should know this if you have ever been called to jury duty. It is also true of every business - mining or otherwise. If you do not take part in the political process, the political process will take you apart. You might as well be part of the process and attempt to institute legitimate change where you can.
