A relatively new and large export thermal coal mine, located in the Hunter Valley region of Australia, produces in excess of 9.1 Mt/a (10 million stpy).This coal handling preparation plant (CHHP) was experiencing problems in production because of intermittent tripping of conveyors caused by the blocked chute switches in the head conveyor transfer chutes.These transfer chutes are critical to the CHPP plant, as all new coal feed enters through the chutes and conveyors.
