The University of MissouriRolla has launched its Webbased Master of Mining Engineering program. It was initiated in 2001 with courses in surface mining, blasting design and technology and mine health and safety design It has attracted 10 students with expertise in three different disciplines. The program targets mining engineers who want to update and expand their knowledge of the profession and other professionals who want a detailed knowledge of mining It is the first comprehensive, Web-based Master of Mining Engineering program to be offered.
