The Industrial Minerals and the Mineral and Metallurgical Processing Division have announced the deadline for nomination and requirements for the Young Scientist and the Outstanding Young Engineer awards, respectively. Deadline for both is June 1, 1995. The awards will be presented at the 1996 SME Annual Meeting in Phoenixx, AZ. The IndMD Young Scientist Award brings the recognition of scientific professionalism to young people working in the industrial minerals industry. The nominee must hold at least a baccalaureate degree and be working in the industrial minerals industry, not reach his or her 35th birthday before the award is presented at the Annual Meeting, have prepared a technical report for presentation at any meeting of the industrial minerals industry or for publication in any scientific journal.
