Yankuang Group is a Chinese coal company that operates a 4.5-Mt/a (5-million stpy) underground coal mine in China's Shangdong province.The company has begun using Honeywell Industrial Automation and Control's PlantScape Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to integrate monitoring and safety for Yankuang's Jining No.3 Mine. The PlantScape hybrid distributed-control-system (DCS) performs as a next generation, full-featured DCS. It merges the best features of DCS and program logic control (PLC) systems by integrating batch-, sequential- and discrete-control functions into one system. This includes SCADA, safety system, building, security and access control. The PlantScape true hybrid control system will be used by Yankuang to import advanced technology and equipment for realtime data collection, transmission and analysis. The system will also be used to display records of the main production process, equipment condition and process parameters of the entire mine.
