WAYNE D. KANACK, now retired, was most recently the safety manager, superintendent and safety supervisor for Morrison Knudsen (MK). At MK, he decommissioned a navy Nike missile site and worked on the cleanup and demolition of a plating shop at an active navy missile facility. He also worked on the construction of the Superconducting Super Collider in the areas of underground safety inspections and the supervision of a mine rescue team. From 1967 to 1991, Kanack served as district manager, subdistrict manager and mining engineer for the Mine Safety and Health Administration.
