P&H MinePro Services has shipped a second P&H 4100XPB shovel to a surface coal mine in Wyoming's Powder River Basin. The shovel is similar to the mine's first 4100XPB model, commissioned in April 2001. Dipper size of the latest shovel is 59 m~3 (77 cu yd). This will allow the shovel to load the mine's largest haul trucks in three passes. This latest order is the 18th 4100XPB unit to go to the field since the first model began work in February 2000. Fourteen 4100 series machines are in use at various mines in the Powder River Basin. These include the models 4100XPB, 4100A and 4100, and a 4100LR long-range coal loader. And several P&H 2800 and 2300 series shovels and P&H drills are also working in the Powder River Basin.
