Constellation Copper re-ported that the electowinning plant at its Lisbon Valley Mine in southeastern Utah was completed and processing of copper-rich solutions was to begin in December. Full production is expected by the end of the first quarter of this year. The 55-million dollars Lisbon Valley Mine is the first new copper mine to be built in the United States in the last 10 years. Mining, crushing, agglomeration with acid, and conveying and stacking of ore on the heap leach pad is averaging between 11 kt and 26 kt/d (10,000 and 24,000 stpd). Mining began in July 2005. The company currently has about 540 kt (600,000 st) of ore placed on the leach pad.
