The U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) will host the third biennial International Mine Rescue Conference. It will be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Conference Center in Nashville, TN, Aug. 29-Scpt. 1.2007. This is the first time that the international conference will be held in the United States. According to Richard E. Stickler, assistant secretary of labor for mine safety and health, "The conference provides a unique opportunity for American mine-rescue experts and their international counterparts to discuss mine rescue techniques and other issues relevant to the enhanced safety and health of working miners everywhere."
