An extension of time for an additional eight years has been granted by Nottinghamshire County Council so that mineral extraction can be completed at Scrooby South quarry. The nine hectare site lay one kilometre north of Retford in a rural location. It formed part of a larger area of former mineral workings and unworked reserves of alluvial sand and gravel permitted in 1999. Part of the wider site had been restored to fishing lakes.
